The Northern regional chairman for the ruling NPP government, Mohammed Adam Bantima Samba, has asserted that the Party will win 2024 elections and form majority in Northern region too.
According to the loud chairman, the party is in better position and formidable enough to emerge victorious in the region after going through successful regional elections, adding that work is afoot to deliver 14 seats in the Northern region to the New Patriotic Party including seat from either Tamale Metropolis or Sagnarigu Municipality, without a mention on the specific constituency
The regional chairman was briefing the media after chairing regional executive committee meeting with members at the Northern regional Minister’s residence today, 30th July 2022 in Tamale.
Present at the meeting were the Northern regional minister, NPP MPs from the region, MMDCEs and all Npp Northern regional executive members. Constituency party chairmen from the 18 constituencies in the region were also present per the rules of the Party . For the First time, the NPP constituency Secretaries were offered rare opportunity to be part of the regional executive meeting through the initiative of the current regional chairman, Mohammed Bantima Samba.
Key issues discussed include the need for peace and unity within the party through stipulated road map to reconciliation among party members especially contestants in the just ended poling, electoral area, and regional elections. A comprehensive strategy was also deliberated upon geared towards breaking the 8 through building and strengthening grassroots base of the party ahead of the 2024 elections.
Speaking to the media, the regional chairman asserted that among other things, party unity and togetherness is the key reason he called for the regional executive committee meeting, alluding to the fact that unity and party cohesion is the only means that can guarantee them success in the next election, and so, call for peace and Unity among party members in the region.
The Maverick Northern regional chairman also emphatically stated that going into the 2024 elections Npp has no fears at all, as he and the leadership is set to win 14 seats in the Northern region for the NPP.
The chairman further hinted putting in place reconciliation committee in the next coming weeks to help build and shape unity of the party on the right path for glory.
”And this reconciliation committee will include constituency executives, dejected contestants, MMDCEs, all of them will be part, at the end of the day we can make sure that we bring every body together. So that we can prepare the grounds very fertile to break the 8. In the Northern region we have started to break the 8 years. Given what transpired during the regional elections we demonstrated unity, a signal that the NPP is ready to break the 8 years in Northern region. Out of the 18 seats New Patriotic Party has 9 seats and NDC has 9 seats. I can assure you, per the grounds we have prepared, I can assure you in the end of the day 2024 elections, New Patriotic Party is going to win 14 seats out of the 18 seats, I can very assure you”. chairman Samba vehemently asserted to the loud applause of the regional executives.
Mohammed Bantima Samba pulled 238 votes in the just ended NPP Northern regional elections to retain his position as the Northern regional chairman over his closed contender Alhaj Inusah Dagomba Boy who pulled 122 votes.
