Players of Real Tamale United (RTU) have contributed 500 Ghana cedis towards the payment of a 3,000 Ghana cedis fine imposed on the club by the Ghana Football Association disciplinary committee.

The GFA’s disciplinary committee fined RTU over a misconduct in their league home match against Dreams FC on November 19, 2023.

The FA earlier in the week reminded RTU to pay the fine before their match day 18 fixture against Accra hearts of Oak on Sunday else their points could be ducted.

Supporters of the club have since initiated contributions amongst themselves to pay the fine since the club is in a state of crisis.

The playing body upon hearing the efforts by the supporters also raised amongst themselves an amount of 500 Ghana cedis to compliment the the efforts of the supporters union.

RTU currently owe its players three (3) months salary arrears which could be extended to four should the club fail to pay salaries at the end of February.

RTU has also been banned three matches from playing at their home grounds in Tamale and a further 10,000.00 cedis fine following a misconduct by the fans in their match against Medeama SC in December last year.
